60 young professionals graduate Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences
In the Winter graduation of Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences on February 18 diplomas were received by 60 graduates of the study directions Tourism and Leisure, Information Technologies, Business Management, and also Mechatronics and Construction.
Master’s diploma was received by 27 graduates of the study programs „Business Environment Administration”, “Sociotechnical Systems Modelling”, “International Tourism Events Management” and “Strategic Tourism Management”. Diploma for the first level higher education or Bachelor’s degree was received by 33 young professionals of the study programs “Wooden Houses and Eco-building”, “Information Technologies”, “Tourism Organisation and Management”, and also “Tourist Guide – Travel and Event Manager”.
The theme of the Winter graduation – „Light and Dark”. The rector of Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences Gatis Krūmiņš noted in his speech: “If you have not been in the dark, you can not really evaluate the light. Knowledge is a very long and great investment. In our contemporary world we often ask – what is valuable? And I would say that knowledge and skills are valuable.”
In the Winter graduation four students of the study program „Sociotechnical Systems Modelling” received diplomas with a record of excellence - Andris Fjodorovs, Anete Raslava, Ilze Saukāne and Toms Vilsons. Three of the graduates are employees of Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences.
The Winter graduation of 2017 set a new tradition at Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences – sharing the graduates’ works that can give a useful information to those interested.
