From July 7 to 11, ViA team visited a partner university in Setúbal, Portugal, as part of the ErasmusPlus capacity building in higher education program. The purpose of the visit was both active work on the international project “Promoting Sustainability and Technology in Tourism, Hospitality and Service Studies” (SIPAS), as well as knowledge exchange and the development of new partnerships.
During the week, SIPAS project activities took place, including meetings with representatives of the Setúbal municipality to learn about local approaches and initiatives in tourism development. ViA representatives also met with Honorary Consul of Latvia in Portugal, Tiago Melo Patricio, highlighting the importance of international relations in higher education and regional development.
"These kinds of in-person meetings not only contribute to the progress of the project, but also broaden perspectives and help generate new ideas for study program development and research,” says Professor Dr.oec. Agita Līviņa.
