From September 22 to 26, representatives of partner universities gathered in Setúbal, Portugal, at the Instituto Politécnico de Setúbal for the E³UDRES² and E³UDRES² Entrenovators General Assembly. This annual event brings together academic and administrative staff, students, and strategic partners to discuss, plan, and shape a shared vision for the future of the European University.
The Assembly’s agenda includes international working group discussions, a review of strategic goals, as well as generating new ideas on how to make European universities even more competitive and accessible to students across Europe and in other strategic regions. Participants will have the opportunity to evaluate half-year achievements and agree on common steps for the future.
This year marks a special anniversary – the 5th year of the E³UDRES² European University’s activities. During this time, the alliance has become an important platform for fostering knowledge, innovation, and international cooperation. “This year we celebrate the 5th anniversary of E³UDRES² – the European University – and summarize the results of the past half year. Progress has been made in all areas of activity. The next steps must focus on ensuring that even more students and staff representatives from all universities get involved in E³UDRES² activities,” says ViA Rector, E³UDRES² Vice President, Ph.D. Agnese Dāvidsone.
The success of E³UDRES² is widely recognized as a success story, but the alliance has even greater potential. “E³UDRES² is undeniably a success story. However, I am among those who believe that the enormous potential of this cooperation can be used even more effectively. If we are serious about Europe’s future competitiveness, our ambitions must be very high. A half-empty glass of results will not suffice — it must be filled to the brim,” emphasizes ViA Council Member, leading researcher Dr.hist. Gatis Krūmiņš.
The E³UDRES² and Entrenovators General Assembly 2025 is not only a checkpoint, but also an opportunity to look ahead — how to continue developing an international, innovative, and student-friendly European University.
