Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences has signed an important agreement with the State Education Development Agency (VIAA) regarding the procedures and conditions for using the Skills Management Platform STARS (stars.gov.lv) within the micro-credentialpilot project, confirming the mutual commitment to strengthening a sustainable and socially responsible adult education system.
“The agreement provides for close cooperation between the university and the agency to effectively implement and manage a digital solution that supports the adult education process, data security, and modern learning accessibility. The STARS platform will serve as a unified tool for processing applications for professional development programmes, data accumulation, and monitoring of micro-qualifications, promoting transparency and the implementation of digitalisation principles in Latvia’s higher education system,” says ViA Dean Dr.math. Aija Cunska.
With this step, Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences continues to actively participate in the implementation of the micro-qualification pilot project and in national-level initiatives aimed at developing lifelong learning, strengthening digital skills, and introducing innovation in education governance.
